Hadith 393
My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from al-Hasan b. Musa al-Khashab from Ghiyath b. Kalub from Ishaq b. `Ammar from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers (as). He said
`Ali (as) would say: There is not one who is tested – even if his test is severe – who is more rightful to supplication than one who is well, who is not safe from being tested [at any point].
5 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله، عن الحسن بن موسى الخشاب، عن غياث بن كلوب، عن إسحاق بن عمار، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن أبيه، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)
أن عليا (عليه السلام): كان يقول: ما من أحد ابتلي، وإن عظمت بلواه، بأحق بالدعاء من المعافى الذي لا يأمن البلاء (4).

Hadith 400
My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim narrated to us from his father from Safwan b. Yahya from al-`Is b. al-Qasim from Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as). He said
Whoever sees one with a disability, or one similar to that, or a suffering person, then he should say privately to himself in a way that the person would not hear: “Praise be to Allah who granted me wellness from what he is suffering from. If He willed, He would have afflicted me with this (alhamdulillahil lathi `afani mimma abtalak bih, wa law sha’a lafa`al bi thalik)” three times, then he will never be afflicted with that.
12 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم، عن أبيه، عن صفوان بن يحيى، عن العيص بن القاسم، عن أبي عبد الله الصادق (عليه السلام)، قال
من نظر إلى ذي عاهة، أو من قد مثل به، أو صاحب بلاء، فليقل سرا في نفسه من غير أن يسمعه. الحمد لله الذي عافاني مما ابتلاك به، ولو شاء لفعل بي ذلك، ثلاث مرات، فإنه لا يصيبه ذلك البلاء ابدا (1).
