I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “Is it obligatory to perform Ghusl before going to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “No.” The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chains: A) My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Abī Khalaf, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Kaťťāb, from Safwān (ibn Yaḥyā), from ‘Ǐs ibn Qāsim, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.). B) Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan Al-Saffār, from Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdil Jabbār, from Safwān (ibn Yaḥyā), from ‘Ǐs (ibn Qāsim), from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).
