The Reward for the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

I asked Abā Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “May I sacrifice myself for you! What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) solely for (the purpose of) Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise.”

I asked Abā Ja’far (Imam Jawād (a.s.)) about the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Prophet (s.a.a.w.) with the (sole) intention of Ziyārah. Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise.”

I asked Abā Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) solely for (the purpose of) Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Allāh will take them to Paradise IN-SHĀ`ALLĀH.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) ordered me to increasingly pray in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) as much as I could. He told me that I would not be able to pray there whenever I wanted to. Imam (a.s.) asked me, “Do you go to the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)?” “Yes,” I replied. Imam (a.s.) said, “Verily the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) hears your voice (if you perform his Ziyārah) from nearby and he will be informed of you (if you perform his Ziyārah) from far.”

I said to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “I paid two or three extra gold coins to my cameleer to take me through Madīnah.” Imam (a.s.) replied, “You did well! How easy this was for you! And now you can come to the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and say SALĀM to him.” Then Imam (a.s.) continued, “Verily the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) hears your voice (if you perform his Ziyārah) from nearby and he will be informed of you (if you perform his Ziyārah) from far.”

I asked Abā Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “May I sacrifice my life for you! What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) solely for (the purpose of) Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Allāh will take them to Paradise In-Shā`allāh.”

I asked Abā Ja’far the Second (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “May I sacrifice my life for you! What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) solely for (the purpose of) Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “(Their reward is) Paradise.”

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will turn away from those who had come to Makkah for Hajj but did not come to Madīnah for my Ziyārah. It is obligatory that those who come to my Ziyārah are included in my intercession, and Paradise is obligatory for those who are included in my intercession. Those who die in one of the two ḤARAMs, either Makkah or Madīnah, will not be brought forth for judgment. They will be (considered) as those who have died while traveling toward Allāh, and they will be resurrected with the companions of the Battle of Badr on the Day of Judgment.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

The Prophet (s.a.a.w.) said: Those who come to my Ziyārah during my life or after my death will be my neighbours on the Day of Judgment.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: Those who come to my Ziyārah after my death are like those who have come to visit me during my life, and I will be their witness and their intercessor on the Day of Judgment.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to Madīnah to my Ziyārah, anticipating (the reward from Allāh).

I asked him (Imam Jawād (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) solely for (the purpose of) Ziyārah?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Allāh will take them to Paradise.”

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: On the Day of Judgment, I will intercede for those who have come to my Ziyārah.

The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: Those who come to the Ziyārah of my grave after my death are like those who had immigrated to (live near) me during my life. However, if you cannot come to my Ziyārah, then send your Salām to me, for verily it will reach me.

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) asked the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), “O father! What is the reward for those who come to your Ziyārah?” He (the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)) replied, “O my son! On the Day of Judgment, it will be my duty to go to the Ziyārah of those who have come to my Ziyārah, during my life or after my death, and to save them from their sins.” The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Ḥusain ibn Ḥasan ibn Abān, from Ḥusain ibn Sa’īd, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from Mu’allā ibn Abī Shihāb, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: Verily (the reward for going to) the Ziyārah of the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) is equal to performing a purified Hajj with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.).

I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “What is the reward for those who go to the Ziyārah of the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “They are like those who perform the Ziyārah of Allāh on His Throne.”
