Hadith 539

[1/1566] al-Kafi: Muhammad b. Yahya from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Ali b. al-Hakam from Abdallah b. Farqad and al-Mu’alla b. Khunays both of whom said
"We were with Abi Abdillah (a.s.) and with us was Rabi’a al-Ra’y. We mentioned the merit of the Qur’an so Abu Abdillah (a.s.) said: If Ibn Mas’ud does not recite based upon our Qira’a (reading) then he is misguided. Rabi’a asked: 'Misguided?!' The Imam) said: 'Yes, misguided!' Then Abu Abdillah (a.s.) said: 'As for us then we recite based upon the Qira’a of Ubayy.'"
[1566/1] الكافي: محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد، عن علي بن الحكم، عن عبدالله بن فرقد والمعلى بن خنيس قالا: كنا عند أبي عبدالله عليه السلام ومعنا ربيعة الرأي فذكرنا فضل القرآن فقال
أبوعبدالله عليه السلام: إن كان ابن مسعود لا يقرأ على قراء تنا فهو ضال، فقال ربيعة: ضال؟ فقال: نعم ضال، ثم قال أبوعبدالله عليه السلام: أما نحن فنقرأ على قراء ة أبي
