Hadith.4321 - Abdullah ibn Muskan narrated from Badr ibn Khalil, who said that Abu Abdillah (as) was asked about a man who was imprisoned and vowed, saying, "It is upon me, for the sake of Allah (swt), that if I am released from this prison, I will fast for a year." The man was then released from prison but feared that he might not be able to fast for an entire year. Imam (as) said
"He should fast for one month, and then from the second month, he should fast a few days so that he completes two consecutive months. After that, he should continue fasting, and whenever he misses a day, he should give a mudd of food in charity. Whenever he fasts, it will be counted for him until he completes a year."
