Hadith 563
۞
6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Hilal from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who is present during the accounting of the two of them who ask him to bear witness to what he has heard from them. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is up to him to bear witness or not, but if he witnesses a true case which he has heard and does not testify, there is nothing against him if he did not testify because they had not asked him to bear witness.’”
