Hadith 549

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has narrated the following
“About the meaning of the words of Allah, "... the witnesses must not refuse to testify when they are summoned to testify,’ (2:282) abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not proper for one who is called to testify to what he has witnessed to say, “I do not want to testify for you.’””
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلا يَأْبَ الشُّهَداءُ إِذا ما دُعُوا فَقَالَ
لا يَنْبَغِي لأحَدٍ إِذَا دُعِيَ إِلَى الشَّهَادَةِ يَشْهَدُ عَلَيْهَا أَنْ يَقُولَ لا أَشْهَدُ لَكُمْ.
