“Once certain person of his people came to him (the Imam) and he saw on him (the Imam) a shirt with a patch stitched on it and he kept looking at it. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said, ‘What is the matter; what are you looking at?’ He replied, ‘I look at the patch stitched on your shirt.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Pick up this book and read what is in it.’ There was a book before him (the Imam) or near him (the Imam). The man looked in it and there it said, ‘There is no faith and belief in one who does not have any bashfulness, no wealth for one who has no planning and nothing new for one who does have any old item.’”
