“Once a man from the people of al-Basrah came to abu al-Hassan, al-Awwal (a.s.), and said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, I sit with people who play chess but I do not play. I only look at it.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘What do you have to do with a gathering to which Allah does not look?”’
