4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa and A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad all from Ali ibn Ziyad has said that Ali ibn Basir once wrote to the Imam asking him to write for him a supplication at the bottom of the page of his own letter with instructions, a supplication that would keep him safe from sins and with comprehensive benefits in this world and in the hereafter. The Imam (a.s.) wrote to me in his own handwriting
“(I begin) in the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful, O the One who manifests the good things, hides the bad ones, does not rip apart the covering from me (my privacy), O magnanimous in pardoning, O the One who overlooks faults with grace, whose forgiveness is vast, whose hands are wide open with kindness, who is the companion of every whisperer, the end receiver of complaints, who honorably pardons, the great provider of favors, the initiator of bounties before a recipient would deserve it, O Lord, O Master, O Guardian, O Rescuer, grant al-Salat (favors) upon Muhammad and his family, and I plead before You not to place me in the fire.’”
4 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيى، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسى؛ وَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ جَمِيعاً، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ
كَتَبَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ بَصِيرٍ يَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ لَهُ فِي أَسْفَلِ كِتَابِهِ دُعَاءً يُعَلِّمُهُ إِيَّاهُ ، يَدْعُو بِهِ ، فَيُعْصَمَ بِهِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ جَامِعاً لِلدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ، فَكَتَبَ (عليهالسلام) بِخَطِّهِ : " بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ يَا مَنْ أَظْهَرَ الْجَمِيلَ وَسَتَرَ الْقَبِيحَ وَلَمْ يَهْتِكِ السِّتْرَ عَنِّي يَا كَرِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ يَا بَاسِطَ الْيَدَيْنِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ يَا صَاحِبَ كُلِّ نَجْوى وَيَا مُنْتَهى كُلِّ شَكْوى يَا كَرِيمَ الصَّفْحِ يَا عَظِيمَ الْمَنِّ يَا مُبْتَدِئَ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ قَبْلَ اسْتِحْقَاقِهَا يَا رَبَّاهْ يَا سَيِّدَاهْ يَا مَوْلَاهْ يَا غِيَاثَاهْ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ لَا تَجْعَلَنِي فِي النَّارِ " ثُمَّ تَسْأَلُ مَا بَدَا لَكَ
