Hadith 552
1. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “
Sadaqah given during day dissolves sins like water dissolves salt. Giving Sadaqah at night cools the anger of the Lord.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَمِیلَهَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ [قَالَ]
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ صَدَقَهُ النَّهَارِ تُمِیتُ الْخَطِیئَهَ کَمَا یُمِیتُ الْمَاءُ الْمِلْحَ وَ صَدَقَهُ اللَّیْلِ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ.

Hadith 553
2. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to us by Ali b. al-Hussain al-Sa’dabadi from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from his father from Sa’dan b. Muslim from Mu’alla b. Khunays who said
“Whenever my father used to give Sadaqah, he used to take it back from the hands of the beggar, kiss that Sadaqah and smell it and then return it to him. He used to do it so because Sadaqah goes into the hands of Allah before going into the hands of beggar. He used to say that I like to have in my hands too what Allah’s hands had held. Giving Sadaqah in darkness reduces the anger of Allah and wipes greater sins. It makes accounting of deeds easier. Sadaqah given during day causes abundance in wealth and life. Once Isa Ibne Maryam passed by a sea. He dropped his food in the sea. One of his companions asked, “O Ruhullah! Why did you do so? It was your food, why did you drop it?” He replied, “I dropped it so that the marine creatures consume it. It carries a great reward in front of Allah.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِیُّ بْنُ الْحُسَیْنِ السَّعْدَآبَادِیُّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ سَعْدَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ قَالَ
خَرَجَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فِی لَیْلَهٍ قَدْ رَشَّتِ السَّمَاءُ وَ هُوَ یُرِیدُ ظُلَّهَ بَنِی سَاعِدَهَ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ قَدْ سَقَطَ مِنْهُ شَیْ ءٌ فَقَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ رُدَّ عَلَیْنَا قَالَ فَأَتَیْتُهُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَیْهِ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ مُعَلًّی قُلْتُ نَعَمْ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ فَقَالَ لِی الْتَمِسْ بِیَدِکَ فَمَا وَجَدْتَ مِنْ شَیْ ءٍ فَادْفَعْهُ إِلَیَّ قَالَ فَإِذَا بِخُبْزٍ مُنْتَشِرٍ فَجَعَلْتُ أَدْفَعُ إِلَیْهِ مَا وَجَدْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا بِجِرَابٍ مِنْ خُبْزٍ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ أَحْمِلُهُ عَنْکَ فَقَالَ لَا أَنَا أَوْلَی بِهِ مِنْکَ وَ لَکِنِ امْضِ مَعِی قَالَ فَأَتَیْنَا ظُلَّهَ بَنِی سَاعِدَهَ فَإِذَا نَحْنُ بِقَوْمٍ نِیَامٍ فَجَعَلَ یَدُسُّ الرَّغِیفَ وَ الرَّغِیفَیْنِ تَحْتَ ثَوْبِ کُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ حَتَّی أَتَی عَلَی آخِرِهِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفْنَا فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ یَعْرِفُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْحَقَّ فَقَالَ لَوْ عَرَفُوا لَوَاسَیْنَاهُمْ بِالدُّقَّهِ وَ الدُّقَّهُ هِیَ الْمِلْحُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ یَخْلُقْ شَیْئاً إِلَّا وَ لَهُ خَازِنٌ یَخْزُنُهُ إِلَّا الصَّدَقَهَ فَإِنَّ الرَّبَّ تَبَارَکَ وَ تَعَالَی یَلِیهِمَا بِنَفْسِهِ وَ کَانَ أَبِی إِذَا تَصَدَّقَ بِشَیْ ءٍ وَضَعَهُ فِی یَدِ السَّائِلِ ثُمَّ ارْتَدَّهُ مِنْهُ وَ قَبَّلَهُ وَ شَمَّهُ ثُمَّ رَدَّهُ فِی یَدِ السَّائِلِ وَ ذَلِکَ أَنَّهَا تَقَعُ فِی یَدِ اللَّهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقَعَ فِی یَدِ السَّائِلِ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُنَاوِلَ مَا وَلَاهَا اللَّهُ تَعَالَی إِنَّ صَدَقَهَ اللَّیْلِ تُطْفِئُ غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ وَ تَمْحَقُ الذَّنْبَ الْعَظِیمَ وَ تُهَوِّنُ الْحِسَابَ وَ صَدَقَهَ النَّهَارِ تُثْمِرُ الْمَالَ وَ تَزِیدُ فِی الْعُمُرِ إِنَّ عِیسَی ابْنَ مَرْیَمَ ع لَمَّا مَرَّ عَلَی الْبَحْرِ أَلْقَی بِقُرْصٍ مِنْ قُوتِهِ فِی الْمَاءِ فَقَالَ لَهُ بَعْضُ الْحَوَارِیِّینَ یَا رُوحَ اللَّهِ وَ کَلِمَتَهُ لِمَ فَعَلْتَ هَذَا هُوَ مِنْ قُوتِکَ قَالَ فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِتَأْکُلَهُ دَابَّهٌ مِنْ دَوَابِّ الْمَاءِ وَ ثَوَابُهُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِیمِ.
