Hadith 1053

3. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from Uthman b. Isa from Abdillah b. Muskan from Abi Shaybah al-Zuhri from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said
“A person who double-talks and is double-faced is doing very badly indeed. He does not get tired of praising his brother on his face but always backbites him. He becomes jealous when his brother gets some bounty and does not help him when he is in trouble.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْکَانَ عَنْ أَبِی شَیْبَهَ الزُّهْرِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
بِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ عبدا [عَبْدٌ] یَکُونُ ذَا وَجْهَیْنِ وَ ذَا لِسَانَیْنِ یُطْرِی أَخَاهُ شَاهِداً وَ یَأْکُلُهُ غَائِباً إِنْ أُعْطِیَ حَسَدَهُ وَ إِنِ ابْتُلِیَ خَذَلَهُ.
