Hadith 1956
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Zakat is not due on legumes, melons and similar things except that if anything of grain accumulated with you remains for one year.”’
1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
لَيْسَ عَلَى الْبُقُولِ وَلاَ عَلَى الْبِطِّيخِ وَأَشْبَاهِهِ زَكَاةٌ إِلاَّ مَا اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدَكَ مِنْ غَلَّتِهِ فَبَقِيَ عِنْدَكَ سَنَةً.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn, from Safwan ibn Yahya from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razin from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), was once asked about vegetables if there is Zakat on it, if sold in exchange for a great wealth. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it (such wealth) unless it remains with one for one year (in store).”’
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْخُضَرِ فِيهَا زَكَاةٌ وَإِنْ بِيعَتْ بِالْمَالِ الْعَظِيمِ فَقَالَ
لاَ حَتَّى يَحُولَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘How much Zakat is on vegetables. He (the Imam) asked, ‘What is it?’ I replied, ‘Edible herbs, melons and similar things of legumes.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Zakat is not due on it unless it is sold in exchange for another kind of wealth and it remains with him for one year; then there is charity on it.’ I then asked if there is Zakat on fresh plum and similar things. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it.’ I then asked if there is Zakat on what is received from the sale of such items. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it remains with one for one year, then there is Zakat on it.’”
3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) مَا فِي الْخُضَرِ قَالَ وَمَا هِيَ قُلْتُ الْقَضْبُ وَالْبِطِّيخُ وَمِثْلُهُ مِنَ الْخُضَرِ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ شَيْ‏ءٌ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُبَاعَ مِثْلُهُ بِمَالٍ وَيَحُولَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ فَفِيهِ الصَّدَقَةُ وَعَنِ الْغَضَاةِ مِنَ الْفِرْسِكِ وَأَشْبَاهِهِ فِيهِ زَكَاةٌ قَالَ لاَ قُلْتُ فَثَمَنُهُ قَالَ مَا حَالَ عَلَيْهِ الْحَوْلُ مِنْ ثَمَنِهِ فَزَكِّهِ.

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ill ibn Marrar and others from Yunus who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), if there is Zakat on saltwort. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it.’”
4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَرَّارٍ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنْ يُونُسَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الأشْنَانِ فِيهِ زَكَاةٌ فَقَالَ لاَ.

5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Mahziyar from ‘Abd ‘Aziz ibn al-Muhtadiy who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about cotton and saffron if there is Zakat on it. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it.’”
5ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَهْزِيَارَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ الْمُهْتَدِي قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) عَنِ الْقُطْنِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا زَكَاةٌ قَالَ لاَ.

6. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following
“I asked abu Ja‘far and abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a garden which has fruits that if sold becomes wealth and if there is Zakat on it. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, Zakat is not due on it.’”
6ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَأَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) فِي الْبُسْتَانِ تَكُونُ فِيهِ مِنَ الثِّمَارِ مَا لَوْ بِيعَ كَانَ مَالاً هَلْ فِيهِ صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ لاَ.
