Water of Bath Houses and Water Heated by the Sun’s Rays

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not take Ghusl (bath) from a well in which water from bath houses accumulate, because in it there is water which is used by one born out of wedlock and it does not become clean for seven generations. In it there is water used by one hostile to ’A’immah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam. One who is hostile to ’A’immah, Alayhim al-Salam, is the worse than the two others. Allah has not created a creature more evil than the dog but one hostile to ’A’immah is more worthless than a dog.’ I then asked him (the Imam) about the water of bathhouses from which one involved in sexual activities, children, Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians take Ghusl (bath). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is like canals in which one part of water cleanses the other part.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Water of bathhouses does not have problems if it is water from a large source; like a fountain.’”

“Abu al-Hassan, the one before (a.s.), was asked about accumulated water in bathhouses used by people which pollutes clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Do not use water which is heated by sun rays for Wudu’, Ghusl (bath) or to turn flour into dough with it; it causes leprosy.’”
