One’s Intention about Payment of Mahr

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one agrees to pay mahr (dower) then decides not to pay it, he is like a thief.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one marries a woman and then decides in his soul not to pay her mahr (dower), he has committed fornication.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If a man marries a woman and does not tell his soul to pay her mahr (dower) it is fornication.’”
