ʿUyūn akhbār al-Riḍā
Hadith 169169 - وَبِهذَا الإِسناد، عَن جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّد عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ، عَن أَبِيهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ قالَ: سُئِلَ عَلِىِّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنعَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ لَم اُوتِمَ النَّبِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ مِن أَبَوَيهِ؟ قالَ: لِئَلاَّ يَجِبَ عَلَيْهِ حَقٌّ لَِمخلُوقٍ.
31-169 According to the same documentation, it is narrated that Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a.s.) quoted on the authority of his father (a.s.) that Ali ibn Al-Husayn was questioned about why the Prophet (S) was an orphan deprived of both father and mother. He (a.s.) said, “That was so that he does not have to obey any creatures.”
