Thawāb al-Aʿmāl wa ʿiqāb al-Aʿmāl
Hadith 84 حَدَّثَنِی الْحُسَیْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِیَادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْهَمْدَانِیِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَطِیَّهَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ: مَنْ سَرَّحَ لِحْیَتَهُ سَبْعِینَ مَرَّهً وَ عَدَّهَا مَرَّهً مَرَّهً لَمْ یَقْرَبْهُ الشَّیْطَانُ أَرْبَعِینَ صَبَاحاً.
1. It was narrated to me by al-Hussain b. Ahmad from Sahl b. Ziyad from Ibrahim b. Abdulrahman b. al-Hajjaj from Muhammad b. Umar al-Hamadani from Ibn ’Atiyyah from Ismail b. Jabir from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said who said: “Shaitaan will remain aloof for next forty days from one who combs his beard seventy times.”
