5 - جعفر بن معروف، أبو الفضل، السمرقندي. يروي عنه العياشي كثيرا. كان في مذهبه ارتفاع. وحديثه يعرف تارة، وينكر أخرى.
5 – Jaʿfar b. Maʿrūf, Abū al-Faḍl, al-Samarqandī. al-ʿAyyāshī narrated from him a lot. There was irtifāʿ in his madhhab. His ḥadīth is recognized sometimes, and other times rejected.
