2. Ja’far ibn Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ‘Ubaydillāh ibn Mūsā ibn Ja’far narrated to me from ‘Abdillāh ibn Nahīk, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Hishām ibn Ḥakam, from ‘Abdil Karīm ibn Ḥassān, who said: I asked Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “What does it mean when it is said that going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Abī ‘Abdillāh Al-Ḥusain (a.s.) is equal to performing Hajj and ‘Umrah?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Verily Hajj and ‘Umrah can only be performed here (in Makkah). However, if one decides to go to Hajj but does not have the means (to do so) and goes to Ḥusain (a.s.) instead, Allāh will register a Hajj for him. (Similarly) if one decides to perform an ‘Umrah but does not have the means (to do so) and goes to Ḥusain (a.s.) instead, Allāh will register an ‘Umrah for him.
