21. My father narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥasan (ibn ‘Ali) ibn Mahziyār, from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Mahziyār, from Ḥasan ibn Sa’īd, from Faďālah ibn Ayyūb, from Dāwūd ibn Farqad, who said: I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: The killer of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) was conceived illegitimately and the killer of Yaḥyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.) was (also) conceived illegitimately. When Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) was killed, the heavens turned red for one year. The heavens and the earth have (only) wept over Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and Yaḥyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.), and the heavens weep by becoming red.
