Al-Kāfi

Hadith 797
وَ عَنْهُ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَخِي مُوسَى ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْهُدْهُدِ وَ قَتْلِهِ وَ ذَبْحِهِ فَقَالَ لَا يُؤْذَى وَ لَا يُذْبَحُ فَنِعْمَ الطَّيْرُ هُوَ .
2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Ali ibn Ja’far who has said the following: “I once asked my brother, abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about Hoopoe, killing and slaughtering it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It must not be troubled or slaughtered, it is a very good bird.’”
