Al-Kāfi
Hadith 97445ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) امْرَأَةً حِينَ مَاتَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ وَهِيَ تَقُولُ هَنِيئاً لَكَ يَا أَبَا السَّائِبِ الْجَنَّةُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) وَمَا عِلْمُكِ حَسْبُكِ أَنْ تَقُولِي كَانَ يُحِبُّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَسُولَهُ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ابْنُ رَسُولِ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) هَمَلَتْ عَيْنُ رَسُولِ الله (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) بِالدُّمُوعِ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) تَدْمَعُ الْعَيْنُ وَيَحْزَنُ الْقَلْبُ وَلاَ نَقُولُ مَا يُسْخِطُ الرَّبَّ وَإِنَّا بِكَ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ لَمَحْزُونُونَ ثُمَّ رَأَى النَّبِيُّ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي قَبْرِهِ خَلَلاً فَسَوَّاهُ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِذَا عَمِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَمَلاً فَلْيُتْقِنْ ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَقْ بِسَلَفِكَ الصَّالِحِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مَظْعُونٍ.
45. A number of our companions narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from Ibn al-Qaddah, from Abu 'Abdullah (AS), who said: The Prophet (sw) heard a woman when 'Uthman ibn Maz'un died, saying, "Congratulations to you, O Abu al-Sa'ib, for the Paradise." The Prophet (sw) said, "How do you know? It is enough for you to say: He loved Allah, the Almighty, and His Messenger." When Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah (sw), passed away, the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (sw) overflowed with tears, and then the Prophet (sw) said, "The eyes shed tears, and the heart grieves, but we do not say what displeases the Lord. Indeed, O Ibrahim, we are truly grieved by your departure." Then the Prophet (sw) saw a gap in his grave and leveled it with his hand, saying, "When any of you does something, let him do it with excellence." Then he said, "Join (O Ibrahim) your righteous predecessor, 'Uthman ibn Maz'un."
