Al-Kāfi
Hadith 54213ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ سِرْحَانَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) لِي فِي كَفْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ إِنَّمَا الْحَنُوطُ الْكَافُورُ وَلَكِنِ اذْهَبْ فَاصْنَعْ كَمَا يَصْنَعُ النَّاسُ.
13. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Salih al-Sindiy from Ja‘far ibn Bashir from Dawud ibn Sarhan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once said to me about the shroud of abu ‘Ubaydah al-Hadhdha’, ‘Camphor is for hunut; however, go and do what people do.’”
