Al-Kāfi
Hadith 822 10ـ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ مُحْرِزٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَقْطِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْحَبْسِ أَنَّ فُلاناً ابْنِي سَيِّدُ وُلْدِي وَقَدْ نَحَلْتُهُ كُنْيَتِي.
10. Ahmad ibn Mihran has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ali from ibn Muhriz from Ali ibn Yaqtin who has said the following. “Abu al-Hassan (a.s.) wrote to me from prison that so and so my son is the master and guardian of my children and I have gifted my own (Kunya, Arabic) surname.”
