I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: Make the first thing which is rubbed on the palate of your (newborn) babies the clay of (the grave of) Ḥusain (a.s.), for verily it is protection.

I heard a man ask Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)), “Can I take some of the clay of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) and keep it with me to seek blessings from it?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “There is nothing wrong with that.”

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: Verily the clay of the Ḥā`ir, where Ḥusain (a.s.) is buried, is the cure for every disease and it is protection against any fear.
